Place or subject: One plot of land called le Boyshalle which Richard had by the demise of Ellen, daughter of Richard the Medic, which lies in the parish of St Mary de Castro, Leycestre [Leicester], opposite Leicester Castle between the land which Ellen sold to the commonalty of Leicester and the roadway which leads towards the mill below the castle, with all appurtenances except for one plot of land which lies at the head of the hall opposite that land, which Ellen sold to the commonalty. To hold to Edmund and his heirs or assigns freely, quietly, well and in peace without any opposition or challenge or impediment of him or his heirs forever, doing the services due and accustomed to the chief lords for this.
