First party: Hawise, countess of Lincoln.
Second party: Simon de Boreford.
Place or subject: Hawise leased to Simon the whole land in the vill of Donintun sub Berdun [Castle Donington] with all appurtenances and liberties pertaining thereto within the vill and outside, which she had in custody by the executors of Ranulf, late earl of Chester and Lincoln, from the inheritance of Richard, son of Simon de Says, being in her custody throughout six years, the term beginning at the Invention of the Holy Cross 18 Hen. III. To hold to Simon and his heirs or assigns from Hawise or her heirs or assigns freely and quietly until Sumon or his heirs or assigns have fully received six crops, in such a way that once the term of six years has passed the crop of that land will remain to Simon and his heirs or assigns until Michaelmas following, saving to Hawise and her heirs or assigns fallow-land and meadow, paying yearly to Hawise and her heirs or assigns nine marks of silver at the two terms of the year, namely four and a half marks at Easter and four and a half marks at Michaelmas for all foreign service.
