Description

Folios: 45v-46. Leicestershire. Quitclaim.

First party: Amaury, count of Montfort and earl of Leicester.

Second party: Simon de Montfort, earl of Leicester.

Place or subject: The whole part of the honor of Leicester with appurtenances as fully and entirely as Earl Simon, his father, or Robert, earl of Leicester, ever held it. To hold to Simon, his brother, and his heirs in tail, from Henry III and his heirs freely and quietly forever with all escheats and others things which could befall to Amaury from the same honor, doing to them the due service pertaining to that part both in the stewardship of the king and also in other services, but saving the right of Amaury and his heirs, if it happens by chance Simon were to die without heirs in tail.
