Folios: 22v-23. Lincolnshire. Grant.

First party: Edward I.

Second party: Henry de Lacy, earl of Lincoln and constable of Chester.

Place or subject: Whereas Henry de Lacy, earl of Lincoln, constable of Chester, lately quitclaimed to the king the manors of Thoresby, Wathe [Waithe], Ingoldmeles [Ingoldmells], Wrangul [Wrangle], Steping [Steeping] and Waynflet [Wainfleet], Lincolnshire, with all appurtenances, to hold of the king and his heirs together with knights' fees, advowsons of churches, homages, services of freeholders and villeins, liberties and free customs and all other things belonging to those manors forever, the king, for the earl's laudable service to the king, grants those manors to the earl with appurtenances. To hold to the earl for life of the chief lords of that fee or the king or others by the services due and accustomed, freely, quietly, together with knights' fees, advowsons of churches, homages, services of freeholders and villeins, liberties, free customs and all other things which the earl had before handing them over, without any reservation, increment or decrement. After the death of the earl all these manors with appurtenances are to entirely remain to Thomas, son of Edmund, the king's brother, and Alice, his wife, daughter of the earl, and their heirs in tail forever. If Thomas and Alice die without heirs in tail, then all those manors are to entirely revert to his other heirs forever, to hold of the said chief lords or the king or others in that form.
