First party: Henry, son of the king of the Romans [Henry of Almain], William de Valencia [Valence], earl of Penbrok [Pembroke], John, Earl Warenne, William de Bello Campo [Beauchamp], earl of Warwik [Warwick], Roger de Summery [Somery], Thomas de Clare, Robert Walerand, Roger de Clifford, Hamo Lestrange (Extraneus), Bartholomew de Sutleg', and Robert de Briwes.

Place or subject: Whereas Robert de Ferrers, earl of Derbeie [Derby], has handed over and committed to them all his lands and tenements, to hold to them until the earl has made satisfaction to Edmund, son of Henry III [Edmund of Lancaster] for his ransom and that of his lands, for which Henry and the others mainperned towards Edmund for the earl, just as is more fully contained in their letters, Henry and the others have promised in good faith to Edmund that they will answer to Edmund for the issues of those lands and tenements as long as they are in their hands, and they will not claim anything for themselves from those lands and tenements or their appurtenances or any escheats by reason of the lands and tenements falling in within that time.
