Description

Folio: 8. Derby; Ferrers. Grant.

First party: William de Gaugy with the assent of Alice, his wife.

Second party: Robert de Ferrers, earl of Derby.

Place or subject: Three yardlands with their appurtenances in the vill of Stapelford [Stapleford], Leics, namely one yardland with a toft which William Rouxi held of William in the same vill, and William Rouxi with his whole following and his chattels; and another yardland, which Robert Alwin formerly held in the same vill, with the toft which Ralph Passelewe held of William in the same vill, lying next to the toft of William Ruxi; and another yardland which Alan son of Simon held of William in the said vill, with the toft which lies between the toft of John de Hurleg, which he once had from William's gift, on the one side, and le Gildewalles on the other. To hold to Robert and his heirs and assigns paying yearly to William and his heirs one pair of gloves or one penny of silver at Easter for all services, secular customs and demands, saving foreign service of the king as far as it pertains to such land.
