Second party: William de Ferrers, earl of Derby.
Place or subject: John's houses with the garden, court and all other appurtenances, which he had at London in Sholand, which house Rose de Verdun, his mother, had of the gift and feoffment of Michael Belet. To hold to the earl and his heirs or assigns in fee and inheritance of John and his heirs free and quit from all service, homage, custom and secular demand pertaining to John and his heirs for one penny of yearly rent payable at Easter, and performing to the chief lords of the fee of those houses the due service which John was accustomed to do.
