Description

Folio: 2v. Derby; Ferrers. Grant.

First party: William, earl of Ferrers.

Second party: Henry, son of Robert son of Walkelin.

Place or subject: Half of [the manor] of Passeham [Passenham], after and when it will be delivered from Lettice, his mother, to Henry and his heirs. The grant is made for his service and homage. To hold of William and his heirs free and quit by the service of half a knight with all liberties and free customs and appurtenances pertaining to the same manor, as freely and quietly as Robert de Ferrers, William's grandfather, ever held it in his demesne. In addition, William has given to Henry the house and dwelling, which was of Richard Shnothe in Tutesburie [Tutbury] at his inn, free and quit from all service pertaining to him and his heirs. William has given the dwelling and half the manor to Henry and his heirs in fee and inheritance by the service of half a knight's fee. He also has given to Henry the tenure of Everard de Jossalia and Everard's homage in Jossalia, and a certain meadow from the increase, which Everard holds.
