Printed prize appeal from the Vice-Admiralty Court of Nova Scotia.
Captured ship: Elizabeth (master Thomas How or Howe).
History: a British vessel, bound from Bordeaux to New York, laden with wine, brandy, prunes, fruit, olives, capers, oil; taken by HMS Daphne, and brought into New York; retaken on 21 April 1778 by the American privateer Hazard (Simon Sampson, commander) and retaken on 1 May 1778 by HMS Rainbow (Sir George Collier commanding) and brought into Halifax.
Appellant: Thomas How, master.
Respondent: Sir George Collier, commander of HMS Rainbow.
