Folios 399-406. Copy of a letter from [Henning Meyer de] Meyercron to the King of Denmark, regarding continuing discussions with Messrs de Pomponne and de Torcy [Colbert] regarding a supposed Treaty between Denmark, England and Holland. Meyercron indicates that he has shared the King's order with Messrs de Pomponne and de Torcy to demonstrate that in his Treaty negotiations the King had no intention to depart from Danish neutrality or its commitments to France. The Frenchmen were pleased by this but enquired whether the Treaty was concluded or whether negotiations were still ongoing, believing that Denmark would have difficulty securing satisfaction from England or Holland unless at the cost of France. Meyercron pressed them for payment of the delayed subsidies and they undertook to refer what they had learned to the French King and report back his decision; Meyercron suspects that the delay in payment will persist until the French have received news from Bonrepos [François d'Usson de Bonrepaus] and notes that he understands that the Treaty of neutrality had been carefully examined, with various articles - including those relating to the 50,000 escus augmentation - debated with Bonrepaus.
