Folios 397-398. Copy of a letter from the King of France to d'Avaux referring to the ongoing delays to the appointment of the King of Sweden as mediator, which must not be endearing the Allies to him. Advises that his intentions for the Prince of Conti and the Polish crown are no longer secret, and that it suits his interests for it to be public now; asks that d'Avaux report to the Abbe de Polignac all that he learns that could be relevant to this matter. It seems to the French King that the Swedish King is not inclined to favour any of the pretenders to that throne, and that there is nothing more dangerous for him than those who would be attached to the House of Austria.
