Folios 372-375. Copy of a letter from the King of France to d'Avaux regarding the King of Sweden's impatience with the Emperor's delay in accepting his mediation without conditions. The return of the express by Starenberg is expected to bring a positive response from the Emperor; if needed, the French King agrees for d'Avaux to give his written assent to the mediation of the King of Sweden, provided the King of Sweden writes to him to offer it and that the Allied ministers also assent in writing without conditions. The French King reiterates his position regarding preliminary matters and location of negotiations; regarding the latter, he expresses his hope that the King of Sweden will not persist with his plan to propose Bremen as he will not accept. The French King strongly approves of the report d'Avaux gave to the Polish envoy about Prince Jacques' offers to the King of Sweden; he has received reports from the Abbe de Polignac that the outlook is favourable for the elevation of his cousin the Prince de Conti. Reference to the request from Sieur Bielke.
