Folios 316-319. Copy of a letter from Meyercron [Henning Meyer de Meyercron, Danish ambassador to France?] (also indicated to be a piece which had been lost with the ship taken by the French). Refers to France, as a consequence of Italian neutrality, being in a position to considerably augment its forces elsewhere, and the Dutch efforts to prevent this by advancing negotiations for a general peace. Comments that the France appears to be expecting England and Holland to make the Emperor happy with the preliminaries or otherwise sufficiently advance the peace without him. Callieres [François de Callières, special envoy of France] is said to be instructed in all matters related to peace; the article on Lorraine will not hold up peace and it appears that France will take a softer approach to the manner in which it is returned. It is clear that France has addressed itself to the two powers of England and Holland, in part perhaps to give rise to jealousy between them and the Emperor. Relays a message of esteem from the French King to the King of Denmark.
