Description

Folio 299. Fragment of a copy of a letter appearing to relate to a proposed position/commission [possibly the crown of Poland?], in respect of which there is resolve not to push for a Prince dependent on the House of Austria, that those who favour 'Prince Jacques' [James Louis Henry Sobieski?] maintain that the Emperor is not much interested in him, and that it is Prince Charles of Neubourg only that he pushes for. This is followed by a copy of a letter from Bordy [Bordy, Monsieur; secretary to Bonrepaus ([Bonrepaus; François d'Usson de])] to Pomponne [Simon Arnauld, Marquis de Pomponne], dated 15 October 1696, regarding sums of money claimed by the King of Sweden from the King of Denmark.
