Folios 229-230: Philip Gidley King, Sydney. To William Scott, HMS Porpoise. HMS Investigator has been condemmed. More details about the difficulties of finding a ship for Matthew Flinders. Captain Flinders is to take charge of HMS Porpoise and use it for his purposes in the Torres Straits. Some of the Officers will need to be changed. He will be informed as soon as possible.
Copy of letter to Lieutenant Robert Fowler, HMS Porpoise from Philip Gidley King. July 20 1803. He is to take charge of HMS Porpoise and replace William Scott.
