Description (What the record is about)

Folios 227-228: Matthew Flinders, HMS Investigator, Sydney Cove. Is sending some observations on HMS Porpoise. If he waits for the return on HMS Rolla or Buffalo he will lose time. They are required for the Colonial Service and would have to have their Officers replaced. He asks that HMS Porpoise is fitted out for him and she goes through the [Yorris] strait to see if it a safe passage between the Pacific and Indian ocean.
