Folios 452-453: Sylverius Moriarty, Regulating Officer, Cork. Reports that HMS Vengeance left harbour yesterday evening, accompanied by HMS Kingfisher, which had arrived that morning. HMS Kite and the City of Cork Tender have orders to proceed to England and take under convoy merchant ships bound up the Channel. HMS Kite is bound for Portsmouth and the Tender for Plymouth. Private letters from the west mention that some privateers have been seen off The Blasques, but he does not believe the report. He has ordered Lieutenant Lamb to inform ay of the Privateers he meets with the information.
