Folios 325-326: James Montagu, HMS Montagu, Spithead. Reports that HMS Montagu had scarcely any Seamen on board from the time Lord Hood took a number of them until 10-14 June, when he received 50 men from the India Fleet. There is still a lot to do to make her fit for sea. He received 146 men from HMS Assistance only yesterday afternoon, few of which are Seamen, and is still 177 short of full complement. The men from the India Fleet have not received their wages, and he wishes to know if he should proceed before that is settled. The Officers of the Dock Yard have refused to complete HMS Montagu's stores to the quantity allowed and have provided only a small potion of the expenditure.
