Folios 245-246: James May, HMS Dolphin, Spithead. Encloses the Establishment for HMS Dolphin [not present]. Points out where this differs from other ships of the same class in carrying servants, paid for by the Officers. He believes that some of the Surgeon's Mates and Physician's servants should be included in the Hospital Establishment, thus reducing the ship's complement from 100 to 51 men. He is not allowed a Master at Arms or Ship's Corporal, but thinks he needs one, who could be in place of the Armouries Mate, of which he has no need.
