Description

Folios 221-222: George Maxwell, HMS Lord Mulgrave, Hull Roads. Acknowledges receipt of the letter of 5 October, containing orders for him to proceed to Spithead, taking under convoy any ships bound for Lisbon, Oporto and Cadiz, and any other trade ready to sail to the west. He should bring back any trade bound north that are ready and willing to accompany him to The Humber, where he should wait for further orders. He will put to sea with the trade vessels on 12 October, weather permitting, as that is the date the Owners have fixed to have their vessels ready.
