Folios 607-608: enclosure with folios 605-606. John Miller, HMS Phoebe, 3 December 1814 writes that he entered the service in 1805 and served as acting master in HMS Protector, HMS Pluto, HMS Ariel and HMS Crescent before performing the same role on HMS Phoebe where he was present during the six week watching the American ship Essex. Asks to be promoted to Lieutenant.
