Folios 591-592: John Martin Hanchett, HMS Diadem, at sea.
Reports that Charles McGillery, late cook of the Fanny transport, was received on board HMS Diadem for a passage to England on 4 October 1814 by order of Admiral Sir Pulteney Malcolm. He died at sea on board on 21 November 1814 and left an order for £95.15.0 and a letter which he states he encloses [not present]. He also refers to a list of clothing left behind [not present].
Folios 593-594: enclosure with folios 591-592. 26 January 1815. A letter referring to the letter at folios 591-592 describing the death of the cook of the Fanny transport and asks that a copy of the letter be sent to Mr Bichnell, or to the Transport Board, with instructions to deliver them to the person legally entitled to them.
