Folios 234-235: Sir Richard John Strachan, HMS Donegal, at sea. In addition to a previous letter, he ought to mention that in a confidential letter from Lord Nelson saying that he expects the French fleet to leave Toulon and start pushing down the Mediterranean and informs me of his intention to follow them desiring me in that event I should be ready to join him, therefore, the wind being easterly, I am not justified in pushing further with the convoy since, from Captain [Sir Edward] Bullen's account, there is no immediate probability HMS L'Aigle soon sailing from Cadiz, I have left the Maidstone to cruise from Cadiz to Cape Spartel [Morocco]
