Description

Folios 215-216: Christopher Strachey, HMS Jalouse, at sea. At the direction of Rear Admiral Rowley, I state that William Merredew was pressed on 7 June 1803 out of the Ferret, homeward bound from the south seas and having no indentures to show at that time and encloses the Petition dated 14th June 1803.

Folios 217-218: enclosure in folios 215-216. Petition dated 14 June 1803 by Stephen Wright, Citizen and Cooper of East Lane, Bermondsey, who petitions that William Merredew was imprest from on board the Flirt South Sea Whaler in the Downs and is now on board HMS Jalouse and asks for his discharge.
