Folios 494-495: Henry Heathcote, HMS Lion, Spithead. Request that the Schooner Topaz having missed St Helena and returned home and he not being allowed to continue to use her as a Tender to HMS Lion nor to employ her on any Particular Service for which he some time ago offered her to the Admiralty has obliged him to sell her. He encloses a petition to the Treasury and request an Order from the Admiralty for her to be Surveyed at Portsmouth, (where she is now) and brought into the Navy if she is found to be adapted for that service. PS This vessel is much better adapted for a cruise that a Merchantman.
