Folios 103-104. The Marquis de Grigny to——, dated at Pont Major Camp. Responding to a request from the Elector for news on the state of affairs there and actions needed to prevent negative consequences further to the reduction of Rosas. Indicates that the loss of Rosas could have been very damaging, as their small army corps (majoritarily new recruits) would not have been in a condition to oppose all of the enemy's sea and land forces had they sought to follow up their success. Considers it would be very difficult to redress the damage done by the reduction of Rosas, but suggests the possible provision of English or Dutch re-inforcements by sea in order to push the enemy back into Roussillon. These borders are the places to do the most harm to France and stop their ill-founded plans. If the Allies do not strengthen their troops and work together to repair the present danger threatening them, the loss of the whole of Catalonia - and consequently other Spanish provinces- is to be feared. Notes that the King has written to the Duke of Medina Sidonia [Viceroy of Catalonia] to form a plan with the General Council.
