Folios 224-225. Jean Adolf, Duke of Holstein, to the King, dated at Ninove. Charleroi has finally succumbed as the King will see from the enclosed and the other advices received at the same time. They will have to remain there until they see the next steps of the enemy. The forage will last there for another four or five days. The news from Savoy is sad. Has shared his thoughts on Denmark with Lord Portland, but it will require money to manage that Court. The King will see that France offer nothing but hope, but if the allies could offer solid conditions that could bring matters to a close.
