Folios 212-214. Maximilian Emanuel, Elector of Bavaria, to the King, dated at Ninove. Charleroi is still holding out as the King will see from the enclosed letter from del Castillo. Also encloses a copy of a letter translated, which two Spanish officers - prisoners at Namur - have written to one of their friends to inform the Marquis de Bedmar. Intelligence regarding conditions on the ground and routes in for rescue. Apologies that he has made use of a scribe for this letter due to illness. Refers the French belief that a battle in Piedmont is infallible given news of Catinat having been reinforced.
