Folios 183-184. A letter from Lord [President, the Marquess of] Carmarthen [to King William III], dated at London concerning a vacancy arising in the post of Justice of [in] Eyre south of the [River] Trent in the room of the late Lord [John] Lovelace. Reminds the King that Lord Abingdon has been promised a favour. In turn, he lobbies on behalf of his son [the Earl of] Danby for Lord Abingdon's place as Captain of the [Gentlemen] Pensioners, since he was previously promised something in the Post Office. Danby's commission in the regiment of Marines would then become available.
