Folios 107-113. Prince Louis of Baden to the King, dated at the Brussels camp. Has delayed writing since his last, pending the reestablishment of Mannheim, but he has nothing satisfactory to tell him on this subject despite the delay. Complains that he is hampered in progressing this by the inactivity of the troops under the command of the Landgrave of Hesse Cassel. Details disputes over the terms under which allied forces are prepared to engage. He has had to abandon the project which would have given them a certain passage to the Upper Rhine, with winter quarters for 8-9,000 men. He has since camped at Brussels, consuming all the forage around Philipsburg. The enemy is approaching [Crou?enach?] for all the Rhine to be guarded so as to prevent their passage; Prince Louis of Baden is assured that there must at least have been a detachment for the Low Countries, of which he is urgently alerting the King albeit it is not certain.
