Folios 105-106. Jean Adolf [Duke of Holstein] to the King, dated at Ninove. The news from Charleroi is that the town began to capitulate yesterday morning. There are rumours that the enemy will try something in Liege, in which case it will be almost impossible to furnish aid. Yesterday the Duke sent a regiment to Oudenaarde. They have yet forage for four or five days, after which there will be no further means to subsist there. The magazines are still in a bad state. The Duke hopes the King will have all this put in order before his departure.
