Folios 88-89. Ferdinand William, Duke of Wurtemberg to the King, dated at the camp at Coyghem. His march from Oudenaarde to St Denis was long and tedious; upon arriving after midnight he took 100 dragons and 200 fusiliers to reconnoitre enemy lines, finding 3 battalions and 9 squadrons. He had his troops advance towards Coyghem within 800 steps of the lines, with the intention of attacking them, but was advised that the enemy had received reinforcements of 20 squadrons and 2 battalions; thus he awaits the arrival of 13 battalions, which he expects by the following night, before attacking the enemy. Requests supplies of bread. The Count of [Bergen?] has arrived. If they are successful in their attack he will march on to the Pont de Tersin.
