Folios 48-51. Prince Louis of Baden to the King, dated at Hailbrune [Heilbronn]. The enemy appears to wish to make more effort than usual. The King will be aware of the surrender of Heidelberg to the enemy without awaiting the raising of the attack, notwithstanding the instructions to defend themselves. Discusses military response. Speculates that the enemy has taken this place to have a good spot in Swabia, then to propose neutrality to that country by threatening them with burning/destruction in the event of resistance. He will do all that he can to oppose their plans.
