Folios 45-46: Thomas Byam Martin, HMS Fisgard, Plymouth Sound. Encloses a copy of letter he addressed to Lord Bridport about the capture of L'Immortalite French frigate by HMS Fisgard and a summary of its defects. He understands that L'Immortalite is in very good repair and will no doubt be found in immediate readiness for service.
Folios47-48: enclosure with folios 45-46. Letter dated 22 Octobert 1798 by Thomas Byam Martin, HMS Fisgard, Plymouth Sound, to the Right Honourable Lord Bridport. Account of the capture of L'Immortalite, listing names of HMS Fisgard killed and numbers of wounded in the engagement. Recommends the steady good conduct of the First Lieutenant, Mr Carden.
