Folios 211-212. Memoranda from the camp before Namur, [written by the French side] stating that Namur has been taken and that the enemy are now leaving the town by capitulation; gives information about the French troops. The French King leaves the next day for Dinant to sojourn with the Ladies, before continuing on to Versailles for 16 July. Marshal de Boufflers will remain at Namur with 20 battalions to have the place repaired; The Duke of Luxembourg crossed the Sambre that day to reach St Gerard with all the army, before going on the next day to the Abbaye du Moulin where the King will be dining. 12 battalions and 44 squadrons are being detached to Germany led by the Count de Co[l]igny; de Valette is being sent to the lines. Further details of forces remaining with the Duke de Luxembourg and the King. Reports that the Prince of Orange did not march from his camp; it is said that he came that day to the border of the Sambre between Tamine and Roselies with 20 squadrons, 10 battalions and 23 pontoons, but nobody believes he will cross. The King had given Monsieur de Vauban 40,000 escus for having helped to take Namur, and sums paid to others are also detailed.
