Folios 152-155. Letter dated at Maastricht from the Prince of Waldeck to the King. Regarding the troops which have just been sent, Lindenboom was sent to see them and assures the Prince of Waldeck that he has seen 14 cavalry companies, each of 70 horses and 12 companies of dragoons already for some time on foot, in very good condition. He understands that the Count of Cerclas [Tserclaes] will remain, which will delight Liege. The enemy is very quiet and found their hopes in mistakes of the other side. The Council of State has not communicated with them regarding the fortifications, giving orders that delay all the works; despite the King's orders there have been no provision for various matters and entrepreneurs are pressing if they are to undertake new works. A commission for Monsieur Zobel seems necessary to direct this matter. The English officers there have begged him to recommend their interests regarding the waggons.
