What Works to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls was a global research programme launched in 2014 that worked in several countries to produce evidence on the most effective interventions to drive down rates of violence against women and girls. The programme was supported by UK Aid, a former mechanism within the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office dedicated to funding and supporting civil society organisations in the UK and the world to achieve the Global Goals set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
