Folio 175. The Prince of Waldeck to the King, dated at Culenborg. Encloses despatches, which have been received from Brussels and elsewhere. He does not know what to do after the dispositions made, which due to the help they had hoped for from various places, remain incomplete and the Count de Solms very embarrassed with the Prince of Waldeck. Sick as he is, he is having himself carried to the Hague, largely because of the secret affair, which the Count of Windisgratz wishes to execute without knowing where to find the people. Colonel Sparfelt, sends word that the English Ambassador at Copenhagen wishes him to cross the sea and inform on what he had discovered on his voyage, and Waldeck has not liked to refuse him leave to go. He [Sparfelt] has hopes for a regiment or command or to serve as an adjutant for the King. Waldeck cannot judge from these discourses his secret.
