Folio 172. Extract from the letter of M D'Auverkerk [d'Ouwerkerke] to the Prince of Waldeck, dated at Brussels. The enemy has arrived with 10,000 men, which they had placed in several locations to ambush them, taking them from garrisons in Mons, Valencienne, Conde and Quesnoy. The Governor of Mons commanded them. He is sending the Prince of Waldeck a copy of a letter from the Governor of Oudenaarde which shows the enemy is marching for Flanders.
