Folio 169. The Prince of Waldeck to the King, dated at Culenburg. Sends him despatches. Does not quite know how to act; the Count de Solms has made his plans, but the difficulties appear too great to be surmounted in time. The trip of the Prince of Vaudemont has been put off as after so many other hindrances, the Prince of Barbancon refused the command of the Prince of Vaudemont. Flemming has gone to Berlin without further information as to the 6,000 men agreed on by the convention of Maastricht. He is told that all of the Alsace troops are descending on the Meuse, and it is even said that the King of France is expected at Tournai. All is set up for an attack on all sides and the troops of Gotha await instructions with impatience. Waldeck's health continues to prevent him performing his duties physically.
