Folios 133-135. A letter from the Prince of Waldeck to the King, dated at Culenburg. The King's letter of 13 November shows the valid doubt of quick peace in Turkey, and he fears that French money, together with their knowledge of the total ruin of the Imperial infantry will prevent it. Matters in Piedmont will go badly if they cannot remedy the conduct of the Elector of Bavaria. The remedy will be difficult since the promotion of Prince Louis of Baden will render his 'generalate' difficult and his aims for the Low Countries seeming unlikely will upset him greatly. The passage of all the Hessian troops is based on a jealousy between the Elector of Brandenburg and the Landgrave among other things - Waldeck's efforts will be useless in this state of affairs and they will no longer be able to count on those troops. Refers to Marshall Flemming and the affair at Liege, and to the money in the hands of the Council of Pensionaires. Notes his mediocre health renders his work very difficult and that his life will not be much prolonged.
