Folios 126-128. A letter from the Prince of Waldeck to the King, dated at Culenburg. If the King sends him the troops he mentions, he will lodge them in Bergen op Zoom and Breda. Discusses arrangements to be made for the Danish troops: if they disembark at Oostende [Ostend] he proposes the infantry would stay there and in Nieuwpoort to secure those places and be close at hand; the cavalry could be lodged at Malines, with those already there moving to make space for them as the undisciplined Danish troops would cause disorder in the flat country. He fears for the success of the secret matter in the current conditions, M Danckelman writing that his master could only provide the 6,000 men that were promised by taking them from those destined for Bavaria, for the Emperor and from other neighbours. Waldeck cannot see where they will find a sufficient corps, the enemy being upon them on all sides, without mentioning the artillery needed and the difficulty of transporting supplies during any frost that might arise. Refers to the delay of provisions. On the side of the Meuse, he is pushing the Count of Solms and de Dyckvelt to fix the disposition of the provisions chariots. it appears that the enemy will bring troops from the Upper Rhine to the Meuse. Waldeck is unsure if he will be able to act in person given the state in which he finds himself. He has not yet received the acts for all the officers due to fill vacancies in the regiments.
