Folios 404-405: Edward Grey, Regulating Captain, Hull. He acknowledges the directions for John Clarke and describes the case once more, adding that Clark was a Forecastle Man and Quarter Gunner in HM Navy.

Folio 407: enclosure with folios 404-405. A copy of the Protection Certificate Numbered 109. Dated 8 August 1803 by J. McFarland, Ipswich to all officers on Regulating and Impress service and Officers of HM Navy. Includes John Clarke’s description signed by Lieutenant S. Jeaffreson, 3 September 1803. Noted in the margin, John Clark of the Good Agreement brig, under John Randle Master, Bound for Hull and Gainsborough.
