Folio 80. A letter from the Prince of Waldeck to the King, dated at the Hague. The Marquis of Bettmar has arrived and cannot say more about the siege of Mons than is contained in his [Waldeck's] letters. Waldeck awaits the King's orders on whether he should leave or wait there; he hopes the leaders will be named and sent to their posts. If the Elector of Brandenburg would advance his cavalry from the Upper Rhine promptly, and the troops in Flanders can be taken from there, they will have a good corps. The Elector of Saxony is unhappy with the unwillingness to relieve him of Flemming and it is feared that he will take a man in his place who is in the interests of a bad party.
