Folios 78-79. A letter from the Prince of Waldeck to the King. Expressing pleasure at the news that the King has reached London, and he having found everything well disposed, they can hope for his return in few days and even that the fleet will be ready to set sail. Waldeck is back from les bains d'Aix [Aix-les-Bains?] in passable health having been very ill. With much difficulty he prevented the army from being camped and completely ruined; after a thousand ridiculous projects the allied and State army generals decided what is shown in the enclosed. In Namur there are currently eight battalions paid for by the State, three by Brandenburg, and Waldeck has sent what is set out in the enclosed memorandum. The retreat of the Munster troops is embarrassing but patience will cure that. The Landgrave has troops by the Rhine and Waldeck is working to procure the conjunction with the neighbours. The enemy is assembling their troops and it is said they are awaiting their King to come straight to Brussels, which is however not very likely "s'il n'y a pas des correspondances". There are some who believe that the French will be on the defensive until late in the season, preparing the magazines in the meantime with all that is needed for sieges on all sides.
