Folio 153. Letter from [Lord Godolphin] to the King explaining why that no tallies can be struck 'however pressing the occasion may be'. All the money necessary for the recruits has been paid as fast as demanded 'so that if there has been any defect in that matter, yet it will not reasonably lie at our door, where' Godolphin expects 'most other faults will be placed'.
