Folios 102-103. Memorandum, compiled from advices from Tournay and the camp of Calvo, on the military affairs at those places. In Tournay: Marshal d'Humieres has 24,000 men and has written to Court [Versailles] for more 'old' troops instead of the 'new' ones making up most of his troops; his request was refused, noting that if he did not consider himself in a condition to maintain the campaign against the Prince of Waldeck he should retire to garrison; the troops were reviewed and the posts of d'Espierres and Mortagne are being furnished from there; there is talk of a packet of letters destined for England having been seized, amongst which several letters in cipher and French were discovered, and which among other things indicated that there is a breach open in the ramparts of Ypres (which information is out of date). In the camp of Calvo: Calvo has executed a movement and come to camp at Reckem [Rekkem?] near Menin; the state of the troops and their organisation/numbers are set out; the rumour in the camp is that they will march towards Normandy to appease the uprising there. Further details of troop number, locations and movements.
