Folios 98-100. A letter from? to the King setting out proposals on weaponry. The writer discusses the pros (multiple shots, compatible with different amunition) and cons (some challenges with loading) of his weapons; has been trialling rifled arms sufficiently to observe that should the King wish to descend on France with these weapons, nothing could stop his passage and his soldiers should be able to use them easily. He has developed 'little mortars' no heavier than a gun, which can fire grenades almost as far as and with more accuracy than a canonball. He reminds the King of a person, already mentioned, who has discovered a new method of loading mortars, and other innovations such as pumps to draw and spray water. Urges secrecy.
