Description

Folios 194-195: William FitzRoy, HMS Mutine, Chatham. Report that as per the enclosed Order which Captain [Isaac] Wolley left with him when HMS Circe was paid off, he has taken every means to procure the Journals alluded to, but find HMS Ferreter gun Brig has been paid off some time at Sheerness and that Lieutenant [William Bowen] Mends her Commander is gone into Wales.

Folio 196: enclosure with folios 194-195.: Isaac Wolley, HMS Circe, [Chatham]. To [Whom it may concern] Dated 15 September 1802. Having been commanded to requested the Journal of Lieutenant [William Bowen] Mends of HMS Ferreter I sent a Lieutenant on 13 September 1802 who returned without a satisfactory answer. Robert Redmill, HMS Delft, Chatham. to Isaac Wolley, HMS Circe, Gillingham. Dated 15 September 1802. You are required to send for the Journals of Lieutenant [William Bowen] Mends of HMS Ferreter and send them to the Admiralty.
