Folios 315-316. A letter from the Prince of Waldeck to the King, dated at the camp at Halle. They remain there waiting for the fleets of the King and the [Dutch] State[s] to be at sea, and for the Elector of Bavaria to cross the Rhine as he says he will at Mayence [Mainz]. The Duke of Luxembourg is with all the garrisons at [Guevrin?] and 6,000 Zell guards have also joined him. Generals Beck and Swartz are spinning 1,800 horses and 500 infantrymen between the Rhine and the Meuse. Waldeck assured the King that the Elector of Brandenburg and M. Danckelman have the best intentions, but the generals have difficulty accustoming themselves to the ways of war in this country; the presence of the King will have a good effect. [PS. encloses lists for the approval of the King; regarding the list of prisoners in France, they are not being offered for ransom or exchange. Major de Wilde seeks promotion.]
